I feel like winter has drug on forever this year. I was still in Germany when it started, then after several moves bringing me up to the current moment, it was as if so much happened along with a ton of time passing only to have the weather be persistently cold and gray. Normally winter doesn’t bother me much as I love having 4 seasons and find winter just a good excuse to curl up with a warm blanket and a big mug of hot chocolate, but these last few weeks I have definitely been hoping for the sun.
My friend and colleague from Mexico City came up for a visit and I picked him up at the airport on Sunday. Interestingly enough, Sunday was a gorgeous day of sun and warmth! I asked him to bring the sunny Mexican weather with him and it seems that he came through. On Monday we headed to downtown Portland for a day in sun, trekking around the city and viewing a few projects along the way. Which means my archive of images to post is just growing!

We ended the day of perfect weather and blue sky by walking along the waterfront under the blooming cherry trees before returning back to my house where I grilled up a big batch of cheeseburgers. Nothing says spring the smell of burgers on the grill! And as something of a grilling fanatic, I couldn’t help but think these are pretty fun. It is called the Twiggy Basting Brush from Perpetual Kid. I am totally gonna get me some of these….
