Zurichorn Park waterfront in Zurich, Switzerland

An article by Patricia Turo on Now Public was recently posted about the summer festivals in Zürich, Switzerland as well as a few notes on the general quality of the city.

Her post includes two photographs of mine that I took while visiting the city last summer and enjoyed it’s lovely lake front. I took a few trips there and really liked the friendly and comfortable atmosphere. It’s a peaceful yet active city with a very nice and very highly used waterfront by both tourists and locals. What impressed me the most is the usability of the spaces as if they really understood what people wanted in an urban waterfront park. I’m working up a post on some parks there that I enjoyed but for now, check out Patricia’s arcticle. I think her closing statement sums up the city nicely…

“Zürich is a fascinating and action filled city and at the same time it maintains it’s civil reputation. Yet it is a place that is passionate about its sports, culture and outdoor way of life. The city is more like a big neighborhood always planning a neighborhood party.”
