I’m continually interested in many facets of marketing and one very important thing to consider when working on any kind of marketing strategy is to understand your target audience and also how placement can play a huge role. So when I came across a recent post over on Seth Godin’s Blog, my first reaction was, why on earth did this company think to put this on the side of the road where drivers would see this? Drivers that are more than likely not in need of such services at the time of passing this sign nor would they think to jot the number down just in case. A little unsettling actualy (especially the 24/7 service part), as it could spark the curious thoughts of wonder as to whether the home or the kids are doing alright.
But then Seth points something out about this sign. Perhaps it does indeed have some brilliance because…who is it that might pass this sign on a continual basis and might think to write the number down for such a service? Police cars. Hmm….
I don’t know, still a little unsettling for the poor drivers.
