As a dreamer with a wild imagination, I have always enjoyed the timeless tale Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. The imagery is also lovely which is why I am totally in love with the site Terrible Yellow Eyes, a collection of works by varying artists inspired by and as a tribute to the classic story and it’s creator. The artist and creator of the TYE, Cory Godbey, describes it as a “visual love letter.” Below is but a small handful of the amazing images on the site.

Wild Snow by Bobby Pontillas

Fishing Thing by Mike Maihack

Wild Crayons by Jason Caffoe

With A Private Boat by Alberto Cerriteño

The King’s Garden by Kazu Kibuishi

Max’s Room by Sarah Caterisano

Sad Thing by Rodrigo Avilés

Max’s Boat by Craig Watkins

Dancing King by Wouter Tulp

Terrible Vines by Mike de Mundo

Wild Chase by Trip Park

You Make My Heart Sing by Niko Geyer

Wild Thing by Shannon Bonatakis
All of the hard work by contributing artists also culminated in a gallery showing of the pieces at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, California from September 19 – October 6, 2009.
